How do we define MAU?

A monthly active user in our context is an anonymized user who has had a Wfloat model loaded onto their device at least once in the last 30 days. It is up to you to ensure that you do not call the `loadModel` function on devices that you do not want counted in your MAU total. This issue could happen by mistake if, for example, you offer speech as a paid feature in your app but you are still calling `loadModel` under the hood on your free users' devices.

We have careful auditing in place to help ensure we don't overcount MAU during the billing period, and if you are on Scale Tier we will always give you time to contest our reported MAU count if it seems incorrect in any way.

If you are on Starter Tier and we notice that you are hitting well above 400 MAU, we will reach out via email and give you plenty of time and help you get switched over to Scale Tier.

How does billing work on Scale Tier?

Scale Tier pricing is based on the number of monthly active users in your app, using the same per-user model shown in the calculator above.

You are not charged extra when those users generate more audio. Once a user is active for the month, their usage stays unlimited.
